I thought the Super Bowl was phenomenal. It was a great game with great plays and two amazing comebacks. The advertisements on the whole were subpar. Budweiser was terrible. Three were worth mentioning and were pretty good. Here they are:

This is a personal indulgence, but I have had a love affair with LSU basketball from the time I was about a few months old and my grandfather sat me on his lap and we watched a game together. When I was younger and was a high school basketball player, I had hopes of playing [...]

Tim Tebow is probably the most courageous football player, or athlete for that matter, to be on such a big stage ever. In a time when people have lost their faith and there is little regard for the scripture, Tim Tebow has brought a light to the masses. He may be the last hope our [...]

Last night, though I lost in one of my fantasy leagues with Romo as my QB, the Cowboys showed me somthing. They struggled and they came together as a team. Marion Barber is a man, all those defending him are boys. Romo has the touch, well, he will. And, though the media has villainized him, [...]

As the resident sports’ blogger here at The Microcosm, I thought I would muse on some thoughts I had during the last few weeks of the summer games.
We watched the Olympics every night, despite being in transit from Baton Rouge to Akron, Ohio, during part of the games. We watched in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on our [...]

As I have already stated, the Olympics are definitely captivating my evenings like no other single sporting event has in my life. It only adds to the drama when my neighbor comes over to watch the gymnasts. She used to be a gymnast herself and you can just see the emotion come out when Nastia [...]

This may be the first Olympics since the Soviets, that there was a serious competitor to challenge the U.S. Gold medal supremacy. China has home turf advantage (which is surprisingly important – check Greece 4 years ago) and a billion people to choose from. Even so, the U.S. will still most likely continue to hold the [...]

Sex, Drugs & Athletes received mixed reviews in its first run last week, so I might make a few changes to try to lighten things up a little bit. But like any good research, more feedback needs to occur before I make any drastic changes.
Besides, you cannot make everyone happy all the time anyway. As [...]

Yankee Stadium–there is no other baseball park in America that polarizes more people than “The House that Ruth Built.” Whether you love it or hate it you have to admit that the site of this year’s All Star game holds a place in every baseball fan’s heart. The fact that The Stadium is [...]

After prying MisterNiceGuy off the XBox I switched on the Wimbledon men’s singles finals between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. It was already in the the fifth set, but there was so much more to see. Roger had come back from two sets down to fight back in two straight 7-6 sets to even the [...]
