I am a big fan of Cosmopolitan Magazine, but when I opened up July’s issue to read my favorite section (Love and Lust), I was a little disappointed with an article called “50 Tiny Gestures That Make Him Love You More.” Most of the tips are pretty good ideas, but I was confused about a few of them, so I figured I’d ask the opinion of our male bloggers to see what they think.

So I was sitting down with my girlfriends having a pow-wow about all the things guys do that frustrate us. And surprisingly, we came up with quite a few. Where shall I begin?

As May approaches, I cannot clearly express my excitement about Sex and the City, the movie. For fans of the television series, the movie is said to pick up four years after the season finale of the show. When we left off, Miranda had Brady, married Steve, and moved to Brooklyn. Samantha overcame breast cancer and was in her first serious relationship with Smith Jerrod. Charlotte and Harry had just found out that they were getting a baby from China. And of course my personal favorite and main character, Carrie left off with a shocking break up with Aleksandr Petrovsky only to be swept off her feet by the irritating, yet aboso-fucking-lutely irresistible Mr. Big.

We all have standards when it comes to choosing a mate. Are our standards innate? I think not. However, upon attending a Animal Behavior class, I found similarities that are quite interesting. The male Fiddler crab is a small crab with one giant claw (shaped like a fiddle), of which he uses to attract the ladies. When it is time to look for a mate, the males will pick a spot on the beach and create a burrow of his own. Once his burrow is created, he will stand out on the beach waving his giant claw at the females and sometimes even fighting other fiddlers in order to determine the stronger of the two. The females run along the beach with their tiny claws picking up food and observing the males who long for their attention. If the male has a nice enough place, a female (and possibly more) will allow him to mate with her. The males will risk their lives standing out in the open beach (where they can be easily snatched by birds) in order to find a mate.

I look up and the first thing I see is a big juicy burger on the menu. Who wouldn’t want that after a long day of work or to supply the energy for the day of work ahead? The fast food industry has been flourishing and with it, fans of the greasy, fatty foods have been along for the ride. Along with the fans, society has had a big effect on the fast food industry and its growing popularity. Being a fan of fast food myself, I didn’t feel our observation assignment was going out of my way as I stepped into the local McDonalds to watch and take notes of the people of my community. The smell of greasy French fries cooking surrounded me as I quietly approached the counter.

Swimming is a favorite exercise/sport of mine (and yes it is a sport! Disagree? Let’s get in a pool. I’ll swim laps around your ass!). One word… Endurance. Swimming is about endurance as well as speed, form, and concentration. I don’t swim competitively anymore, but I swim a lot for exercise and stress relief. Recently, I was thinking about how swimming correlates with life, and what a beautiful thing swimming is. Read more »
