Veterans to the show saw this coming: The two-part season finale.
Yes, I knew coming into tonight that this season would not end just yet. The final two contestants — Petrozza, our boy, and Christina — have too much to accomplish to pack it in to a one-hour episode.
So, being the smart little directors they are, the people running the show extend the season finale for all its worth, and hopefully they are making some money because I would love to see another season (though I am not sure how many restaurants Gordon Ramsay can oversee, I mean he has to stop at some point right?!?).
Of course there always is Kitchen Nightmares to fill the Ramsay void left in our hearts while our favorite reality cooking show is off the air. Sorry, Top Chef, but Hell’s Kitchen is much, much more entertaining, even if you guys do have better talents.
Time for a little recap of tonight’s episode, the first part of the season finale. Read more »
Unlucky episode 13 was just that for me last night. I was unable to watch anything but the final cut due to my late-running ultimate frisbee summer league game, so I am not at liberty to discuss the results just yet.
But I do not want to keep you guys from discussing last night’s episode, that would be so selfish of me. So, go on, talk about it in the comments, and I will try to watch the episode at some point today.
I only caught the second half of last night’s episode due to my ultimate frisbee obligations, but that usually is the best part of the show anyway.
And boy was it last night.
All four of the final contestants — Corey, Christina, Jen and Petrozza — had a few setbacks. Christina slipped up by burning Ramsay a couple times (at the time I thought it would be her undoing), Jen screwed up on a few of the apps, Corey undercooked some fish and Petrozza was his usual sloppy — but good in the kitchen — self.
Overall, though, Ramsay called it the best service to date in Hell’s Kitchen, and it was a much-improved kitchen. But someone had to go home, as always, and the decisions get tougher and tougher as the season progresses. Read more »
My wife’s sister got engaged last night, and we had a little surprise gathering for her and the new man at Coffee Call last night.
So, needless to say and unfortunately, I missed last night’s episode of Hell’s Kitchen.
However, I do plan on watching it today on Fancast during my lunch break. But I did not want to keep you guys waiting that long to talk about last night’s episode, so let’s hear your thoughts, opinions, predictions and concerns in the comments.
Yesterday was the wife’s birthday, so our Hell’s Kitchen-viewing plans were thrown for a loop. Her sister decided to come to town to take us out to dinner, which was nice and all, but we missed the first 15 minutes of the show.
No biggie though, because dinner service always is the best part of the show and we got to watch it in full. However, I was without my notebook last night so I have no notes today regarding last night’s episode, but I will try to recover some thoughts after the jump.
Remember to head over to Fancast — which I probably will do today — to check out last night’s episode if you missed it. Read more »
Here is another quick recap of last night’s episode of Hell’s Kitchen:
ZOMG. How in the F is Matt still on Hell’s Kitchen? It has to be for entertainment purposes alone, because the dude flat-out sucks in the kitchen. Sweating in the food? Disgusting.
Poor LouRoss. My man fell short, I was hoping he would go a little deeper into the challenge, but if you undercook a steak, then do it again, then do it AGAIN, well, the writing was on the wall for you, my friend.
Corey and Christina working together on the red team?!? Who would have thought? They actually make a pretty good team, at least they did last night.
Now with Jen moving back to the red team and Matt back to the blue teams, things will get interesting again. Matt is the weakest cook on either side and Corey and Christina are working well together on the red side, so Jen and Matty seem to be next on the chopping block. But stranger things have happened.
Petrozza’s honesty is a good quality and I think Ramsay really likes him. He has a chance to make it to the final episode and is my favorite to do so at this point. On the other side, I will take Corey to make it to the finals against Petrozza.
The only person who saved Matt’s ass last night was Rosann. But they both should have left Hell’s Kitchen. If he survives another week, which I fear he might, I will continue to be pissed about his presence.
Jen started pretty rocky with the blue team but they rallied around her by the end of the show. Not sure how long that harmony will last, though.
LouRoss blew it in the challenge, but I was glad to see him rebound nicely in the dinner service. Definitely one of my favorite chefs in terms of personality. I hope he goes far.
The men were exceptional in dinner service last night. Petrozza slipped up momentarily, but recovered. Bobby was quiet but solid. Jen was motivated and gleeful. And we already heard about LouRoss’ night in the kitchen.
Let’s take a look at the red side: Corey, unfortunately, was decent last night, but I do not trust her leadership skills. Christina was bad, but not terribly bad. Rosann was horrible, as usual. Matt sucked and was back to his old ways again. Surprised he stayed, but Ramsay had it in for Rosann.
Remember, if you missed any of the Hell’s Kitchen episodes, you always can catch up at Fancast.
What do y’all think about last night’s show? Who is the next to go? How long will the harmony last in the blue kitchen with Jen over there?
Things are getting chippy in Hell’s Kitchen on both sides of the kitchen. The women are bickering, Corey keeps picking on Christina and Shayna, and the men — mostly Ben and Bobby — are ganging up on “Matty” like they did to Jason and Craig.
Hell’s Kitchen is going to be a battleground from here on out.
