House MD: Season 5, Episode 5

And it touched us all, young and old, long and short, black and white, and all those in between, deep in our pants last night.  We watched and grew, metaphorically speaking that is, as 13 and her lesbian lover had their E-infused tryst.  Two soft-skinned fertile women groping and kissing and… it was just perfect.  But this episode had so much more.

Predictably House had to test Wilson.  It was obvious from the start that Wilson was giving House the slip with the prostitute.  They are not back to full form yet, but you had to like the first scene with Wilson on the ground in his office with the strategically placed honey bun and milk.  No, this episode was not so much about House and Wilson as it was about our new girl and our old Foreman.

I will precurse this discussion with my previous hypothesis that Foreman and 13 were going to get it on.

  1. So, House, M.D. returns tonight. I have had to contain myself. I have wanted to read the wiki articles about the upcoming episodes, but I held back.  Will Wilson stay hooked up with evil bitch? Will House get depressive again? Will Foreman hook up with the new white chic?   “
Of course, I must also add that I thought she was only pretending to be a lesbian.  Though I was only half right, I still hold that she is more hetero than she leads the viewer to believe.  You could feel the sexual tension building between Foreman and 13 in the locker room.  He was so close to giving her a taste of Jungle Fever to cure her loneliness, if he just didn’t have so much control over himself.  For all we know, the last time Foreman got laid was with that sales rep and the nurse House shot down from a few seasons ago.
So, what do we know about 13?  She’s depressed, she’s dying, she’s hooking up with girls because guys are too much of a commitment and dangerous, and she’s weak.  She keeps secrets and she is extremely interesting.  Finally, something worth a shit.
These characters are starting to get some edge.  Much like Season 2, we are starting to fall for the new crew, just like we did with the old.  What I once complained about, the bloated cast, I am beginning to finally enjoy.  As we learn more about the new group, the familiarity of the old group becomes part of the story.  For example, Chase has become the guy everybody wants answers from.  Not just with Foreman, but throughout Seasons 4 and 5 he has been the guy everybody goes to for a straight answer.  And Cameron still gives the emotional play-by-play, giving insight where needed.
Foreman has always been one of my favorite characters.  Only House and Wilson are more interesting.  I am glad there is some refocusing on his character.  Other than Wilson, he comes the closest to understanding House and reading his plays.  However, he also seems the loneliest of all the characters.  When Foreman goes home, he goes home alone and work is about the only thing going for him.  Eventually the writers are going to bring the chemistry to a head and 13 and Foreman are going to have figure out what they are all about.  He’s testing the waters, trying desperately to get her to notice his interest.  He actually cares, something he has never really shown, without provocation, for anyone else.  Will House and Chase’s declaration of his boringness bring out the 17 year old in Foreman again?
Next week:  Cuddy’s adoption plans are revealed and House is not happy about it.  There is a complex relationship between House and Cuddy that borders on motherly.  The writers are toying with House suffering from an Oedipus Complex.  Will House finally do it with his mom?  She’s got a great ass!

  1. It looks like we might just finally see the culmination of years of chemistry into a cataclysmic kiss on Tuesday. I just want to see Cuddy get naked. Is that so wrong?
